  4.       base memory. ( another 32k or more EMS memory is required for the
  5.       animated background option VGA display. )

  8.    4. Keyboard and support for mouse and joystick.
  9.    5. Support for Adlib, Sound Blaster Card, Mt-32, General Midi.

  16.    4. To see the animated background least 32k of Extended Memory.
  17.    5. Use arrow keys to highlight the selected item and then press enter to
  18.       change the settings.

  20. III. How to play
  21.  
  22.    1. If you need to change sound settings, run Install program and use arrow
  23.       keys to change it. Notice, do not select on "Install Game to Hard Disk"
  24.       column. It is not for Shareware Version.
  25.    2. Run this Game by executing sango.exe file.
  26.    3. After Brief demo You will see the main menu, then use arrow key to choose
  27.       INSTRUCTIONS. You will be an excellent player after briefing through the
  28.       rules and instructions.

  30. IV. Introduction to the game
  31.  
  32. At the twilight of the Eastern-Han Dynasty of ancient China, under the reign
  33. of the frail and incompetent emperor HAN-LING, the country was in disarray
  34. when the government was run by a group of corrupted eunuchs - the so-called
  35. "Ten Attendants". Hardship and famine finally threw the country into turmoil.
  36. The rebellion quickly spread over the country. The rebels were known as
  37. "Yellow Scarfs" because they covered their heads with yellow scarfs. To get
  38. the full support of the generals in the military regions, Emperor HAN-LING
  39. entrusted them with more military power to put down the uprising. The
  40. Yellow Scarfs were finally crushed but at the expense of the central
  41. government which saw its authority threatened by the generals turned warlords.
  42. One of these warlords, DONG ZHUO, on the pretext of dislodging the Ten
  43. Attendants, marched into the capital city LUOYANG and then usurped the
  44. throne. Although DONG ZHUO was quickly defeated by other allied generals, the
  45. turmoil was far from over. As the weakened Eastern-Han Dynasty no longer
  46. had authority over the whole country, every warlord was watching for the
  47. opportunity to take over the leadership. After ten years of suffering from
  48. numerous battles between warlords, the people in northern China finally had
  49. some respite when CAO CAO, a Machiavellian strategist, eliminated all his
  50. opponents in the North.

  52. Not content with his sucesses in the North, CAO CAO wanted to reign over
  53. the whole of China by eliminating the rest of the warlords in the South. His
  54. first target was LIU BEI who, being a royal prince of the Eastern-Han Dynasty,
  55. has a legitimate claim to the throne. Though small in force, LIU BEI was well
  56. entrenched in the country of JING, and he knew how to preserve himself by
  57. allying with a neighboruing warlord SUN QUAN. Together hey engineered a
  58. serious blow to the ambition of CAO CAO when they defeated his great army in
  59. the Campaign of CHIBI. Having suffered a great loss, CAO CAO had no
  60. alternative but to retreat to the north. Taking advantages of his military
  61. success, LIU BEI went further to occupy the region of SICHUAN so as to
  62. consolidate his position in the country of JING. With the help of his five
  63. intrepid generals-GUAN YU, ZHANG FEI, ZHAO YUN, MA CAO and HUANG ZHONG, he
  64. managed to build up an army strong enough to wrestle alone with CAO CAO. With
  65. the aim of restoring the Eastern-Han Dynasty, he now sets off to the North to
  66. confront CAO CAO. But CAO CAO is by no means a chicken. He also has many
  67. experienced generals like DIAN WEI, XU XU and XIAHOU CHUN holding out in
  68. various fortresses. Will LIU BEI overcome all these obstacles on his way to
  69. the North? Will he finally defeat CAO CAO to restore the Eastern-Han Dynasty?
